Simple Screenshot Privacy Policy

Simple Screenshot does not collect, track, or send any of your data. Everything stays on your device.

What We Collect

Nothing.

Simple Screenshot does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage data. No analytics. No accounts. No sign-ups.

What We Store Locally

The filename, timestamp, and kind of your last screenshot. Saved locally on your device using chrome.storage.local so the popup can show 'Saved screenshot-...png just now'.

This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, and we have no way to access it.

Why We Need Each Permission

Simple Screenshot only asks for the permissions it needs to work. Here is what each one does:

activeTab

Read the current tab when you click Capture so the extension can take a screenshot of it.

scripting

Run the scroll-and-stitch helper for full-page mode, and the clipboard-write helper for copy mode, only in the tab you triggered the capture from.

storage

Save the filename of your last capture so the popup can show it.

downloads

Save the PNG to your Downloads folder with a date-stamped filename.

notifications

Show a short toast confirming the file saved. Click the toast to open the file.

Third-Party Services

Simple Screenshot does not connect to any external servers, analytics tools, or advertising networks. It works fully offline after you install it.

Policy Updates

If we change this policy, we will update this page. The date at the bottom shows when it was last updated.
