SEO Inspector Privacy Policy

SEO Inspector does not collect, track, or send any of your data. Everything stays on your device.

What We Collect

Nothing.

SEO Inspector does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage data. No analytics. No accounts. No sign-ups.

What We Store Locally

Which audit sections you had expanded, and whether the nofollow overlay toggle was on. Saved locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. No URLs, no audit results, no personal data is stored.

This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, and we have no way to access it.

Why We Need Each Permission

SEO Inspector only asks for the permissions it needs to work. Here is what each one does:

activeTab

Read the page on the current tab only when you click the toolbar icon or trigger the keyboard shortcut.

scripting

Run the audit function inside the current tab so the popup can read DOM, headings, JSON-LD, canonical, robots, meta, and links. The function returns data to the popup. It does not contact any server.

storage

Save your popup UI state (which sections were open, whether the nofollow overlay was on) so it stays the same the next time you open the popup.

optional_host_permissions: https://*/*, http://*/*

Declared but not requested in v1. Reserved for a future feature (HTTP headers and redirect chain) that will prompt for permission per origin when you click it. Granting nothing in v1.

Third-Party Services

SEO Inspector does not connect to any external servers, analytics tools, or advertising networks. It works fully offline after you install it.

Policy Updates
