Screen Recorder Lite does not collect, track, or send any of your data. Everything stays on your device.
What We Collect
Nothing.
Screen Recorder Lite does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage data. No analytics. No accounts. No sign-ups.
What We Store Locally
Whether the microphone toggle was on or off. Saved locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. The captured video itself is written straight to your Downloads folder and never read back by the extension.
This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, and we have no way to access it.
Why We Need Each Permission
Screen Recorder Lite only asks for the permissions it needs to work. Here is what each one does:
storageSave the on/off state of the microphone toggle so it stays the same the next time you open the popup.
downloadsSave the captured WebM file to your Downloads folder when you press Stop. The extension calls chrome.downloads.download with a Blob URL that lives only in memory.
Third-Party Services
Screen Recorder Lite does not connect to any external servers, analytics tools, or advertising networks. It works fully offline after you install it.
